Auger boring
Cost-effective jacked casing crossings of 12" to 48" under railways, roads and structures.
Auger boring uses a dry rotating auger driven through a steel casing pipe that is jacked in as the auger advances. The boring machine sits in a launch pit on grade with the bore profile and exits into a reception pit. With a two-casing system some steering is possible.
The method is widely used under railways, roads and structures. With pipe sizes from 12″ to 48″ it remains one of the most cost-effective crossing methods in soft and medium ground.
DWCC auger boring machinery is supplied by American Augers, USA.
